There are cute, sociable dogs who love their neighbors, and then there’s Melado, a border collie from Santa Catarina, who is all of these things combined!
Every day, he runs toward his neighbor, Andreia Pfeifer Neves, when he sees her arrive home. But, contrary to what one might imagine, it’s not to bark or chase the car, but simply to greet her in the sweetest way possible.
Melado’s pleading look at Andreia is repeated daily, whether he sees her arriving or waits for her to appear in the backyard for some affection. The houses, separated by only a medium-height wall, don’t prevent the two from exchanging affection every day.
Andreia captured some of these moments. In one, she shows “the neighbor using all his charm to get a cuddle.” With his face pressed against the wall, Melado looks at Andreia, waiting for her to approach.
As soon as she gets close, she starts petting him, and he grins, resting his paws on the wall. Not satisfied, he intensifies the charm, placing his paws on her face, convincing Andreia to pet him even more.
“Don’t make that face,” says the woman as she catches the dog begging for affection. So cute, impossible to resist!
The photo captivated internet users, who fell in love with Melado. He, with a personality as sweet as his name, captivated everyone.
The video, shared on Andreia’s TikTok profile, has already received more than 585,000 views, 105,000 likes, and thousands of comments.

This, however, wasn’t the only cute photo of Melado Andreia took. On another occasion, she shared the moment she was arriving home and, while still in the car, spotted the border collie waiting in the yard.
When he realizes it’s Andreia’s car approaching, he runs toward the wall dividing the houses. Once positioned, he stops and waits for his neighbor to enter and, of course, pet him.
“And I have a beautiful neighbor who waits for me every day,” he described in the video. Pretty cute, right?
Border Collie Characteristics
The Border Collie is an extremely agile and intelligent breed, known for its herding ability and need for constant physical and mental exercise, according to Petplan.
Originally bred to work with sheep, they are known for their energy and desire to learn, which makes them respond well to training, especially with positive reinforcement techniques.
Border Collies are sociable and tend to get along well with other dogs, and can live with cats if introduced early. Besides being very receptive to training, it’s important to develop their chasing and herding instincts to ensure their safety.
With coats ranging from smooth to rough, commonly in shades of black and white or red merle, Border Collies are fun and active pets. However, they require a lot of attention, time, and regular exercise to maintain a balanced demeanor and avoid mischief.
