Sadie, a golden retriever, has faced many challenges throughout her life to share this special moment with her owner, Lauren Thomas. Lauren married her fiancé, Tom Yancheski, on September 23rd, and, of course, Sadie was the guest of honor.
Lauren considers Sadie not only her best friend on Earth, but also her beloved spiritual companion. With all the love her guardian has for her, it was no surprise that at the wedding ceremony, Sadie shone as brightly as the bride.
Wearing a flower crown and a special collar, the little dog stood beside the bride and groom during the altar ceremony. She was undoubtedly a beautiful canine lady! She received endless affection and treats.
“THE ABSOLUTE BEST DAY. We are infinitely grateful to our family and friends for traveling to celebrate with us and for helping us with so many things. Our life’s mission of having Sadie with us on our wedding day is complete,” Lauren declared in a Facebook post .

Sadie’s story of overcoming
Today the pet is 15 years old, but at 11 years old, she gave her owner a real scare, who had to rush her to a veterinary clinic late at night because she was acting strangely, and Lauren knew that wasn’t right.

The pet was diagnosed with a tumor in her spleen and internal bleeding, leading Lauren to make one of the most difficult decisions of her life, as she stated:
“Whether I would have surgery on my 11-year-old dog (I use the term ‘dog’ so loosely because she is my daughter) to remove her spleen, or possibly let her go within a few weeks,” he vented .

So Lauren opted for surgery, and although family and friends considered it a crazy choice, all she wanted was to give Sadie a chance to have more life, even with more than a 70% chance that her tumor was cancerous.
It was then that, due to her strong will to live and all the love she received from her guardian and family before, during and after the surgery, Sadie was cured!
“She truly makes my world a better place, and I wasn’t ready to love her, and the world wasn’t ready to lose her. She brings so much happiness and comfort to my life and is truly my best friend.”
Marriage
Four years had passed since the surgery, and there was Sadie participating in the most important moment of her guardian’s life at the top of the mountain: the wedding.
“On the best day of my life, she was by my side after a bumpy 30-minute car ride up the mountain. Today, she’s 15 and a half years old and the best companion I could ever ask for,” he said .
Moved, Lauren shared some pictures of this special moment in an animal group on Facebook, and the post accumulated more than 9,400 reactions and thousands of comments full of affection.
“I love these pictures, but I love Sadie more,” commented one user.
“So lovely, you are a beautiful person inside and out!! Sadie is blessed,” declared another.
“A beautiful spirit in her. You are so blessed to have her with you on such a special day,” wrote a third.
The photos are so beautiful! May Sadie be healthy and live many years with her owners.
