Horácio, a blind dog, was nearly euthanized due to his disability. Thanks to a kind person, his tragic end was changed, as he was adopted.
This little cutie found a responsible and loving home! He also became best friends with a snake.
Who would have thought that a dog, whom no one valued, would become the best friend of one of the most feared reptiles on the planet?

Sad past
When Horacio was about six months old, he was taken to the vet to be euthanized.
The reason for the decision? The family said they didn’t want him anymore because he was being too aggressive.
The veterinarian refused to perform the procedure, as Horacio was perfectly healthy.
Moved by the dog, the vet didn’t allow him to stay with this family and looked for another home for him – and found one!
Horácio stayed in this home for two and a half years, but after that, he became aggressive toward the other dogs. The family no longer wanted him.
The pet’s owner said in an interview with GeoBeats Animals that she believes Horácio’s aggressive behavior was triggered by the terror he felt towards dogs.
The visible scars on his body suggest that he may have undergone traumatic experiences.
It is possible that he reacted aggressively to protect his food, perhaps as a result of having to compete for resources.
The family did not abandon the pet on the streets, but rather contacted an animal shelter.
This would be the beginning of the story of the blind and little understood dog!
New home
When Horácio arrived at his new home, before moving in permanently, he stayed there for three days to adapt.
The shelter staff was extremely happy, as Horácio got along very well with his new owner!
He definitely felt at home and loved!
Horácio doesn’t like the company of other dogs, so his new home has only him as a dog. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have friends. He does! And he’s a snake, actually several snakes.
The owner keeps these reptiles as pets, and Horácio got along really well with the creepy crawlies. The opposite is also true!
During the interaction, the owner is always present to ensure that both animals are well and comfortable.
The owner thinks it’s incredible that Horácio gets along well with other species of animals.
Besides loving having snakes as friends, Horácio loves something else: his ‘grandma.’ When he learns that his owner’s mother is home for a visit, he beams with joy.
