Have you ever imagined a dog that feels like part of a flock of sheep? This is the story of Lexie, a golden retriever who lives on a farm in Canada and receives a lot of affection from her woolly friends .
She receives the best treatment, being accepted and pampered with much affection by the flock.
It couldn’t be any different, since Lexie is a very friendly, docile and trustworthy dog, typical characteristics of her breed .
According to her owner, Lyss Teeuwissen, she loves being around sheep and even thinks she is one of them.
“I swear she thinks she’s a sheep most of the time and wants to be with them all the time ,” Lyss said in an interview with People magazine .
The owner’s TikTok account has become a sort of friendship diary between her golden retriever and the sheep. The 24-year-old uses the social network to share fun videos of this interspecies interaction.
A post from January 21st captures Lexie camouflaged among the sheep, receiving some licks and returning others.
She looks very comfortable snuggling between them, and they don’t seem to mind her presence.
“She’s in her happy place ,” the owner wrote in the caption.
Lexie and her sheep’s videos are a hit, garnering over 12 million views, 2 million likes, and 6,800 comments. Many praise the dog’s cuteness and friendliness, as she seems to fit in well with her group of furry friends.
“Day 49: They still haven’t figured anything out,” one commented.
“Best intruder I’ve ever seen,” Kelli said.
“That one is trying to let him off the leash so they can be equal,” added a third.

But why are golden retrievers so friendly and outgoing? According to the Golden Joy website , this breed is one of the most intelligent, obedient, and sociable in the world.
They were originally bred to be hunting dogs, but they also excel as guide dogs, therapy dogs, and companion dogs.
They are very attached to their owners and love to please them, as well as being gentle, patient and kind with children and other animals.
The funniest thing about this situation is that the dog fits in perfectly with the sheep because it has the same color coat . It’s as if she were truly part of the flock.
Even when she’s not among the entire group, Lexie never misses an opportunity to show her love to the animals . She even pops through the gates during grooming or feeding times to give them kisses.
It’s hard to say if the golden retriever has a favorite sheep, since they’re all the same except for the number on their earrings. But considering that she loves another species besides her own, there shouldn’t be any distinction.
