Martín is a six-year-old mixed-breed dog who lives with his family in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. He has a unique way of expressing his love for his owner, Andrew de Moura Silva, when he comes home.
Missing his owner so much, the little stray doesn’t run to the door to wait for him; he does the opposite, hiding behind the sofa to surprise him.
Andrew knows his pet is anxiously waiting for him. So, before he can even drop his work backpack, he runs to Martín to receive a cuteness attack.
There’s a lot of love involved!
Myllena de Luca, Andrew’s wife, was in love with this moment and filmed and shared the video on her Instagram profile on January 25th.
The post has accumulated more than 655 thousand views and received thousands of loving comments.
“And how can you not love these little creatures!” exclaimed one internet user.
“When they receive love, they give it back,” declared another.

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet , Myllena said that Martín is a bit temperamental, but that doesn’t stop him from showing how much he loves his guardians.
“He has his own way of pleasing us, of giving us affection, because he doesn’t like us holding him,” said Myllena.
Because he doesn’t like physical contact very much, Martín found another way to show his joy when he saw his guardians coming home.
The hiding place
It all started in 2019, but before hiding behind the sofa, Martín believed that on top of the upholstery was a great hiding place.
Pleasing the pet, when Andrew arrived home, he pretended not to see him there, only to later receive the same cuteness attack from the pet as in the video above.
Four months ago, the couple moved house, and that’s when Martín started hiding behind the sofa.
“When he hears the door opening, he runs to the hiding place and waits for my husband to appear,” Myllena explained.
The pet’s attitude moves the owner, who says that the couple has already gone through many difficulties with the stray dog.
Martín is extremely allergic, and Myllena and Andrew had to rush him to the vet several times.
Having a happy and healthy stray dog fills the couple with joy!
“Seeing him having this quality of life brings us a lot of peace and emotion,” said Myllena.
Adoption
Myllena says that Martín was a gift from her husband and that, when she received him, she was undecided about adopting him, as she knew the responsibilities that a pet requires.
Andrew was very insistent on adoption, but Myllena remained adamant.
She says she even said a prayer asking God to inspire in her husband the desire to return the stray dog to the shelter, but the opposite happened.
“We stayed up until dawn talking about it, then I prayed to God in my mind: ‘Lord, make my husband feel it in his heart to return Martín.’ And then, my husband, unaware of the prayer I said, looked at me at three in the morning and said: ‘I don’t feel it in my heart to return Martín.'”
It was at that moment that Myllena realized that the stray dog belonged to her family.
Without a doubt, Myllena’s decision to adopt him was the best one, because due to his health problems, another family might not take as good care of him, and he wouldn’t be as happy as he is!
