The incident took place on the farm of the internet user who shared the story. Upon waking up one morning to go to work, he found his dog, named Bolt, in the pasture, closely following the abandoned lamb.
The lamb, having no other reference point, followed the dog and stayed close to him for warmth and protection.

The scene surprised Bolt’s owner, who filmed the moment and shared it on his TikTok account.

Unexpected Welcome
In the video, the man appears talking to his dog while observing the unusual interaction:
“What are you doing, buddy? I don’t think it’s yours!” The owner continues, explaining: “Hey, Bolt, it’s okay, buddy. Don’t worry. I have to go to work, but my wife is coming here to help with your situation.”

Despite efforts to reunite the lamb with its biological mother, she continued to reject the puppy.
Given the situation, the couple decided to take it into their home, where it was cared for alongside Bolt.
In updates posted on TikTok, the man showed that the lamb was warm and well-cared for, resting in a dog bed, still fighting sleep like any newborn baby.
“Honestly, Bolt is the only reason he survived the night. He cleaned him and kept him warm. Our only concern is illness, since he went so long without colostrum.”
What is colostrum?
According to Polipet, colostrum is the first milk produced by mothers shortly after giving birth. Rich in antibodies and essential nutrients, it is essential for strengthening newborns’ immune systems and ensuring healthy development.
Without this first nursing, the lamb may struggle to grow up healthy and is more vulnerable to disease.

A New Temporary Home
The couple stated that they will care for the lamb for the next eight to ten weeks, until he is strong enough to join the flock.
Meanwhile, the puppy, now named Buddy, has been enjoying Bolt’s affection and company, further enchanting internet users.
