I think a kitten named Olive must be thinking, “Just because I’m cute doesn’t mean you can pet me,” because her canine brother, Widget, an Australian Shepherd, can’t see her without wanting to squash her.
Actually, it’s about to bite her, as she opens her mouth wide to ‘swallow’ her head. The ‘siblings’ live in Canada with their guardian, Carly. In a video posted on the duo’s TikTok profile , you can see Widget’s ‘Felicity mode’ activated, trying to ‘swallow’ her sister. Even though the game isn’t Olive’s favorite, she doesn’t seem to mind (I think she’s controlling herself to please her little brother).
“Dogs and cats have different play styles, but Widget doesn’t understand. His sister doesn’t play like dogs do. Maybe I’ll try offering her a box,” the video caption reads.

In an interview with Newsweek , Carly said she brought Widget home when she was just eight weeks old. The kitten was a little wary at first, but the ice was soon broken.
“You can often find them curled up on the couch when it’s sunny and they’re sleeping together, or sometimes they’ll both snuggle with me in bed. Olive will eat cat nip that I sprinkle for her and Widget thinks it’s for him too. So he eats the cat part too.”
The two are very close! This is because they had a good socialization. The owner respected each other’s time until they were both comfortable with each other’s presence.
As advised by the NGO American Humane , located in the United States, the first thing to do — upon first contact — is to choose a suitable place such as some room in the house instead of a park.
And always have two companions to restrain the animals in case of conflict. If you notice any restlessness, separate them from the environment.
The cuteness of this duo quickly went viral and reached more than 484 thousand views, 72 thousand reactions and thousands of comments.
“It almost seems like she doesn’t care,” one commented.
“Oh my gosh! They’re so cute,” declared another.
“Sis sure loves Widget or she’d take an eye out,” wrote a third
