While reporting for KBC in Kenya, a journalist was interrupted by a playful baby elephant who decided to tickle his nose.

Alvin Patterson Kaunda was doing his work when he was interrupted by a calf named Kindani, according to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a wildlife rehabilitation center for elephants and rhinos in Nairobi.

The video was shared on the journalist’s social media, and of course the unusual scene made many users laugh at what happened.

At the beginning of the recording, it is possible to notice that Alvin receives a small push from another elephant, but he gets around the situation by petting it.

“They say charity begins at home, and for these young orphaned elephants, this charitable foundation is what they call home,” Alvin says.

“It’s the place where they discover and learn life’s lessons, experience love, and deal with loss,” he adds.

However, soon after, Kindani also decides to join in the fun, placing his trunk on the reporter’s head and ear.

This in turn continues to firmly pass on information about the young orphaned elephants.

In this sense, Alvin reminds us that human actions are destroying habitats, decimating our entire ecosystem and interrupting the cycle of life.

“With increasing cases of drought, it is up to us to be guardians of our own natural world, save our only species and provide a home,” he points out.

Not content with the game, the cub begins to pass its trunk over the man’s nose, taking away all his concentration and making him laugh.

Published on November 11, the video was seen by almost 100,000 people

“Three out of five of the big five. Great experiences so far behind the scenes… Wait for it!!,” Alvin wrote in the caption.

In addition, the post had 11.7 thousand likes and 693 comments.

“Excellent work! Thank you for visiting our elephant friends at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust,” says Iam.

“Everyone wants to be the star! Thank you for coming to the nursery and meeting our special flock,” the institution emphasizes.

“This is the most incredible video I’ve ever seen! I love your relationship with them and how comfortable they are with you!” Melissa says.

Elephants

Among the largest land animals on the planet, elephants belong to the Elephantidae family , with a total of three main species: the Asian, the African savannah and the African forest elephant.

According to the BOL website , the largest elephant ever found weighed 10.9 tons and was four meters tall, meaning its weight was equivalent to an empty 40-seater bus.

As an adult, this animal can consume more than 150 kilos of food and up to 160 liters of water per day.

Another interesting fact about this large mammal is that they don’t see very well, but they have the best sense of smell in the animal kingdom, being able to smell water from 20 km away.

Furthermore, they are still able to sense rain that is 240 kilometers away.

The life expectancy of elephants is 70 years.

They begin to reproduce from the age of 16, and rarely have more than four offspring throughout their lives, with the gestation period of these animals lasting 20 to 22 months.
