When love for a dog speaks louder, even size doesn’t matter. Little Beatriz understands this well, a little girl who won over the internet by coming to her dog’s defense with all her courage and a cherry slipper in hand.
The video, posted on social media, shows the moment the girl’s aunt tries to explain herself after being scolded.
“You can’t hit the dog!” Beatriz snaps, holding her slipper tightly as she looks at the adult with an indignant look.
The aunt tries to justify herself: “But I didn’t hit the dog, I threw him food.” Only then does the little animal advocate relax her arm and lower her slipper, visibly relieved.

“The defender of the weak and oppressed haha I can’t handle this indignation,” wrote her mother, Natália Borges, in the caption.
The scene, of course, went viral. The video has surpassed 137,000 views on TikTok and garnered comments filled with laughter and delight.
“Future good lawyer, the cutest thing in the world,” wrote one internet user.
“I want a lawyer like that for myself! She wins the case by winning over the entire jury,” joked another.
Love that comes from the cradle
This isn’t the first time little Beatriz has demonstrated her love for animals. A resident of Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, she had already become a social media phenomenon thanks to her love for chickens.
Even before she turned one, Beatriz was already in love with the animals on the family’s rural property, including bantam hens, a rabbit named Princesinha, Nina the sheep, and even a mare.
What began as curiosity turned into friendship. The girl was caught cradling a chicken like a baby, lying on the couch with another on her lap, and even trying to put the birds in a doll’s stroller.
One of the most famous videos, with more than 4.9 million views, shows the little girl putting a garnizé to sleep .
At just two years old, Beatriz already inspires thousands of people with her sweetness and now, with her sense of justice.

An example of empathy
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), teaching children to respect and understand dogs is an essential part of family life.
Just like the “mini doggie lawyer,” children who grow up surrounded by animals can develop a great sense of empathy and protectiveness for them .
From an early age, they learn that dogs also have feelings, limits and their own ways of communicating.

One of the experts’ main pieces of advice is to teach children to read their dog’s behavior . For example, if a dog growls, moves away, or hides, it’s a sign of discomfort, and the child needs to be taught to respect that space.
The AKC also recommends teaching children to back away when necessary , such as when dogs are overly excited or playing intensely, to avoid getting hurt or disrupting play.
Another important point is to show how children’s behavior influences dogs’ reactions .

Yelling or running can make your dog think it’s playtime and start jumping or biting lightly, just as they would with another dog.
In these cases, it’s a good idea to redirect the animal’s behavior with a toy or calm command, rather than punishing it.

In addition to promoting safety, these interactions strengthen emotional bonds and help shape more compassionate adults.
