A Siberian Husky named Aika showed just how beautiful a pet’s interaction with a child can be! Upon meeting her human brother, Davi, for the first time, her reaction couldn’t have been sweeter.
The duo’s mother and guardian, Eduarda Palu Zampieri, who lives in Maringá, Paraná, filmed the moment and shared it on her TikTok profile on September 28, racking up over 1.4 million views. It’s impossible not to smile when watching the video!
Aika’s Personality
In an interview with Amo Meu Pet, Eduarda said that Aika is very sweet. The family even jokes that their pet has a hidden child inside her, she’s so loving!
During her pregnancy, the husky was very protective, not allowing strangers to approach Eduarda during walks; she would bark or growl to ward off the ‘threat’.
“I don’t think she knew he was there in my belly, but she felt I was more vulnerable and needed her protection,” she said.
The meeting
During pregnancy, Eduarda and her husband were worried about how their pet would meet Davi and how they would introduce them. The couple imagined several scenarios, but none came close to Aika’s reaction upon meeting her little brother.
In the video, you can see her curious eyes shining when she saw little Davi, and not only that! She smelled him, admired him, and sat next to the baby carrier as if to say, “From today on, I will be your protector.” So cute!
“We knew she would never be unfamiliar with him; we had this feeling in our hearts, as we always raised her to be very sociable with people and children, and so it was,” she declared. “As a pet and human mom, I felt fulfilled seeing all this love!”
After the meeting
Davi is 49 days old, and do you think that in the weeks following his arrival home, Aika changed her behavior towards the little one? No!
The pet remains as friendly as the first day they met. Eduarda says she’s inseparable from Davi, and when the family goes for a walk, the pet has the same reaction she had when her owner was pregnant: she won’t let strangers near her, but this time she’s protective of Davi.
“At home, as usual, every morning she climbs into bed to say good morning to us, and now the good morning is for Davi too!”
Eduarda considers Aika much more than just a dog and has big plans for her pet and her son.
“She is our soul, our purest love, and without her, we are nothing,” he said. “I hope Aika and Davi become best friends, that Davi grows up loving and respecting animals just like I do. Just like my mother taught me, I want to teach him, and I hope they’ll be good companions for each other!”
