José Florianal de Vieira, 73, works as a recyclable material collector in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, and has attracted the attention of city residents by taking his dogs in a stroller on his walks.
The reason is that one of the animals, an elderly farm dog named Suzi, is very spoiled and doesn’t like to walk, according to her owner.
The man, known as Seu Flor or Sr. Índio, lives in a humble house in the Desbravador neighborhood and considers his dogs his children.
This information was shared by internet users and residents of the municipality after a record of Mr. Flor walking with Suzi went viral on the profile @ chapeco_sem_limites , on January 6th.
The video received over 5,000 likes and hundreds of comments from people touched by the scene. Many users said they already knew Mr. Flor and his dogs and that he is a very friendly and loving person.
A resident identified as Luciane commented on his testimony, stating that she once approached him because she was curious about the pet’s condition and asked if the dog was sick and couldn’t walk. The answer was surprising:
“He told me that she’s spoiled and doesn’t like to walk, and if she stays at home she cries, so he carries her in the stroller. He also said that they are his children,” he said in the post.
According to the Ndmais portal , in total, Seu Flor has four dogs, Mel, Pé de Pato, Suzi and Cavalo Velho .
Everyone follows the collector during his work routine. But since Suzi is elderly, she prefers the cart, and the others walk alongside.
A second person, named Gabriela, reported that she had also encountered the man with Suzi and that he had placed her in a small box on his bicycle to take her with him. She said he cares for the animals with great love.
Another initiative discovered from the video was a campaign to collect food and supplies for Mr. Flor and his dogs, organized by the VoluntAUrios Project , which works to defend animals.
The project’s profile publicized the action on Instagram and informed how people can help.
