Liz Standley, a volunteer with Dallas Animal Services in Texas, United States, often visits shelters. One day, while handing out treats, a charming sight caught her eye.
Among so many anxious dogs, a snout appeared between the bars with a gentle smile.
That was Cutie, a little dog who seemed to have found a way to charm and win over a family.
“She was sitting there patiently and had a little smile on her face,” Liz told The Dodo .
Cutie’s gesture was irresistible, and Liz didn’t hesitate to open the kennel and give the sweet girl some affection.
With her tail wagging frantically, Cutie snuggled into the volunteer’s lap, confirming what her smile already said: she just wanted love.
Faced with so much cuteness, Liz decided to record the moment and share the video on social media.
What she didn’t know was that this small action would completely change Cutie’s life.
Days later, Liz learned that Cutie’s story was even more touching than she had imagined.
The little dog had been found on the streets of Dallas during a severe cold snap, desperately seeking shelter. Despite her difficult journey, she never lost her sweetness and hope of finding a family.

Liz’s efforts to get Cutie adopted soon paid off. When she checked the shelter’s adoption website, she realized the dog’s profile was no longer available.
This could only mean one thing: she had found a home!

Delighted by the puppy’s joy and sweetness, her new owners decided to take her home and gave her a new name: Frida.
“They told me she’s doing great,” Liz said emotionally.
