Editorial policy
The standards behind our reporting.
This policy explains the standards behind everything published on MoralFace.
1. Accuracy
We publish what we can support with named, publicly available sources. Claims are attributed, numbers are checked against their source, and we separate reporting from opinion.
2. Sources and originality
We do not republish other publishers' articles word for word. Stories are written in our own words, name the original source and link to it. Quotations are kept only where they appear in the source material.
3. Use of automated tools
Where we use automated tools to help draft or summarise articles, a person remains responsible for what is published and the article names its source.
4. Images
Images carry a credit where the creator or source is known. Illustrations created for MoralFace are credited to us. If you own an image and want it credited or removed, see Copyright & removal.
5. Corrections
If we get something wrong we correct it promptly and, for material changes, say so on the article. Report an error through the contact form.
6. Independence and advertising
Advertisements are clearly separated from editorial content and never disguised as articles. Advertisers have no influence on what we report or how we report it, and we do not accept payment for coverage. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, is labelled as such.
7. Fairness and sensitive topics
We treat the people in our stories with respect. We do not publish hateful content, do not mock victims, avoid sensational detail about violence, accidents or illness, and do not identify private people or children where that could harm them. Content involving animals is checked for cruelty; we do not promote it.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handled a story, tell us through the contact form. We review every complaint.
